WELCOME TO THE SUNFLOWER SCHOOL
Serving ages 3 to10
The Sunflower School is a secular, diverse, and inclusive Microschool.
We are located in Williamson County, TX on our 5.4 acre wooded, family property.
At our school, it's all about balance. We believe in preserving the magic and wonder of early childhood through play, exploration and imagination. We also value the importance of building a strong academic foundation through individualized, developmentally appropriate lessons for every child.

OUR STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM..

CHILD-CENTERED ACADEMICS
We provide authentic, standards-informed instruction that is thoughtfully tailored to each child’s unique needs and abilities. Our carefully curated, emergent curriculum is rooted in nature- and science-based learning, with literacy meaningfully integrated at every grade level. Starting in first grade, we supplement our program with high-quality curricula in math, literacy, and social studies to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.

FREEDOM
Our students thrive during extended blocks of child-led, uninterrupted play and exploration between work cycles. This time is essential for social-emotional development, confidence-building, and the growth of physical and cognitive skills.

COMMUNITY
With our small group-size, each child feels seen and all needs can be met in a classroom that feels like a family. Our safe and loving environment provides a space for each child to learn, build confidence, and grow friendships. Families enjoy our tight-knit parent community with regular meet-ups outside of school (with and without kiddos!).

FLEXIBILITY
Our school schedule is flexible, with multiple options for attendance to meet the varying needs of our unique school community. We offer full-week attendance for those looking for an immersive schooling experience as well as part-week attendance for those who are homeschooling in tandem.
CHILD-CENTERED, NATURE-FOCUSED.

ALL ARE WELCOME
The Sunflower School strives to provide a secular, diverse, equitable, and inclusive schooling option for families in Williamson County. We welcome families of all types and do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, national origin, ability, sexual orientation or socio-economic status. Our school families are expected to share the same values. All are welcome here.
